my name is cassandra, and i am a geek of a higher order. i'm also an internet investigator, a computer forensic technician, a programmer, and an advocate against cyberstalking and harassment. this means i'm not someone you wanna piss off.
i like a lot of eclectic and different things and as such am hard to categorize. slightly twisted with a cute bent works tho.
i'm too happy for my own good sometimes. as such, i've been nicknamed "perkygoth". i may snarl, but i rarely bite, altho i may stuff flaming toothpicks in your nostrils if you really push me.
i'm quite approachable. i'm also gothic, pagan, an optimist, an animal rights activist, a vegetarian, a pet guardian, and many other things that are too varied to put down. i'm easy going and tolerant, but draw the line on intolerance, prejudism, racism, and cruelty. i volunteer with WHOA, an organization that helps victims of online abuse and stalking. in real life, i want to be a police officer with the provincial police. for now, i'm an IT investigator and computer forensic technician with a canadian bank. i tend to fly in my pretend life.
i'm not perfect, although it may look like it. i also suffer from obsessive compulsiveness and will happily create lists and over-organize things around me.
i'm the owner of ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) crumb_tinies, a community for very short stories. it's presently very slow, but should be picking up in the near future (i hope).
i also maintain and manage a team that runs dragonlance underground, a fantasy based website dedicated to satirizing the world of dragonlance. don't expect anything canon or serious while you're there!

as for general LJ rules...
1) feel free to add me if you want. you don't have to ask permission. what am i going to do? say no? even if i do, how am i going to stop you if you ignore me?
caveat to 1)
the "feel free" is not an invite to anyone that qualifies as insane, psycho, a stalker, or an ex-boyfriend (unless you're a special ex-boyfriend). if you're someone that has been told to not contact me, you qualify under this caveat.
2) don't be insulted if i don't add you back. i reserve my friends list to people i know and find interesting. don't take it as a blight on your ego if i don't reciprocate. if you add me, i'll check your info and if you look interesting or have a connection to me that i find interesting, i'll probably add you back. but otherwise i won't. i'm busy enough without adding more people to keep up with. besides... most of my posts are public anyways. the friends only ones are set to that for a reason.
3) do not invite me to rating communities. ever. i loathe the concept of them. i had enough of cliques and popularity contests when i was in highschool, and i have no time for it. if you advertise or invite me in one of my posts (whether it's a post i make in my LJ, or a post i make to a community) i'll erase it, with no explanation. it will also guarantee you a spot on my shit list.
4) if you have criticism, go ahead and say it, but do it constructively. if you flame, your post will be erased, and you'll wind up on my shit list.
5) you're welcome to comment as much as you want, even if you're not on my friends list. be warned tho... anyone not on my friends list will have their posts screened initially. don't get your panties wadded up about it. i'll unscreen it as soon as i see it. this is a protection feature for myself.
6) if you want to be my friend, you must send me presents. cookies, smelly lotions, and shiney objects are good ideas. :D
